I, WE IDENTIFIED THAT THE COMMITTEE IN ALL THEIR WORK AND THERE'S A LOT OF GOOD WORK DONE, REACHED A CONSENSUS IN THE FIRST MEETING ABOUT THE NAMING OF THE SCHOOL.
STATISTICALLY WHEN YOU DO GROUP DYNAMICS AND THINGS LIKE THAT, THAT IS A VERY RARE CIRCUMSTANCE, VERY RARE CIRCUMSTANCE. NOW, THERE WAS ALIGNMENT WITH THE DATA IN SEVERAL CASES, NOT IN ALL, BUT IN SEVERAL CASES. AND SO WITH THAT BEING SAID, I THINK I DON'T THINK WE'RE TOO FAR OFF TRACK, BUT THERE'S A LOT OF NOT A LOT OF THERE WERE SOME VOICES AS IT RELATES TO FOLKS WHO HAVE LIVED IN THIS COMMUNITY A LONG TIME THAT AREN'T CURRENTLY NECESSARILY INVOLVED IN OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT BUSINESS, THAT WEREN'T REPRESENTED AS A PART OF FULLY REPRESENTED IN MY MIND AS A PART OF THIS RECOMMENDATION PROCESS.
AND MY CONCERN GOING FORWARD IS I'D LIKE TO EXPLORE THAT AND MAKE SURE THAT THERE'S ALIGNMENT.
NOW, I'M NOT SAYING THAT THERE'S NOT ALIGNMENT. I MEAN, DON'T INFER ANYTHING. I'M SAYING WE MAY HAVE COMPLETE AND UTTER AND TOTAL ALIGNMENT. AND TO BE HONEST, DIRECTIONALLY, I KIND OF LIKE WHERE WE'RE HEADED. I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THAT IS INDEED THE CASE. RIGHT? WE JUST DID THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY. I AGREE WITH A LOT OF WHAT ROB SAID BECAUSE IN THE WORKSHOP, WE DID HAVE A REALLY IN-DEPTH DISCUSSION ABOUT IT AND HOW THAT FACTION OF THE COMMUNITY, THOSE STAKEHOLDERS WERE MISSING FROM THE CONVERSATION. HOWEVER, I THINK BASED ON THE PRESENTATION THAT I'M SEEING AND WHAT THEY'RE GOING TO PRESENT TO US NEXT WEEK, THAT IF WE ARE. I THINK IF WE WERE VOTING ON A WHOLE PACKAGE, I WOULD NOT BE THERE AT ALL.
I THINK THAT'S WHERE THE MORE CONVERSATION AND THE MORE INFORMATION COMES IN THAT WE'VE ASKED FOR ADMINISTRATIVE ADMINISTRATION TO DO TO GET FOR US THE NAME RECOMMENDATIONS, THOSE RECOMMENDATIONS. I DO THINK THAT THERE ARE OPTIONS IN THERE THAT REFLECT THE VALUES OF THE COMMUNITY THAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR.

THOSE ARE OBVIOUSLY LIKE TRADITIONAL, ROOTED IN HERITAGE NAMES.
AND SO I THINK THAT WE DO HAVE SOME GOOD OPTIONS ON THIS TO BE ABLE TO SAY THE VALUES OF THE COMMUNITY ARE IN THIS, YOU KNOW, THIS ONE SLIDE HERE. SO THAT'S WHERE I AM WITH THE NAME.

YOU KNOW, BUT THAT SAID, I AM OKAY VOTING ON THE OPTIONS PRESENTED BECAUSE I DO UNDERSTAND THERE WAS QUITE A SIGNIFICANT, OVERWHELMING POPULATION OF PEOPLE THAT REALLY DID WANT ONE THING.
I DO HEAR YOUR CONCERNS, ROB. AND AT THE WORKSHOP I SHARED IN A LOT OF THOSE CONCERNS.
AND SO I, YOU KNOW, AND I HAD COMPLAINTS TO THE COMMITTEE, I WAS THE BOARD LIAISON, AND I SHARED MY CONCERNS TO THE COMMITTEE THAT THEY WERE NOT GETTING OUTSIDE THE BOX AT ALL. BECAUSE THESE NAMES WERE LITERALLY PULLED JUST FROM THE SURVEY.
THE ONE THING ABOUT THE SURVEY I PERSONALLY DID NOT LIKE IS THAT IT REALLY WAS.
IT WAS PRETTY CLEAR THAT THE EXISTING SPRINGS WAS NOT POPULAR TO MOST PEOPLE.
I GOT BOTH QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE FEEDBACK.
SO THEN WE ARE NOW BASING ALL OF OUR TOP RECOMMENDATIONS ON WRITE INS.
THAT IS MY ONE CONCERN. I DO NOT LOVE THAT. BUT AGAIN, IT WOULD NOT PREVENT ME FROM ALSO JUST MOVING FORWARD WITH A VOTE BECAUSE I THINK THIS IS AN EXCITING THING. AND I THINK THE LONGER WE WAIT, I THINK IT ADDS MORE ANXIETY UNNECESSARILY TO OUR COMMUNITY.

I JUST WENT TO A SUMMIT LAST WEEK WHERE ACC, THE ACC CHANCELLOR, WAS TALKING ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING IN REAL TIME TO SAY, YOU KNOW, YOU CAN SEE YOU'VE MISSED SOME CLASSES AND PROACTIVELY REACHING OUT TO THE STUDENT OR YOU'VE SIGNED UP FOR THESE CLASSES, AND THEY DON'T SEEM TO ALIGN TO WHAT YOU DECLARED AS YOUR DEGREE PATH AND THOSE KINDS OF THINGS.
SO MAYBE THAT'S A QUESTION. YEAH, I'LL FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THAT AND REPORT.
SUPERINTENDENTS REPORT. I WILL CALL YOUR ATTENTION TO BOARD MEETING DATES.
THAT IS ALL THE DATES STARTING IN AUGUST FOR NEXT YEAR.
AGENDA REVIEW ON THE MONTHS WHERE WE HAVE A LITTLE BIT LONGER MONTH AND THEN THE MONTHS WHERE THERE ARE HOLIDAYS THAT CONFLICT NO AGENDA REVIEW VERY MUCH MATCHES THE SCHEDULE FOR THIS YEAR. SO JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU ALL TAKE A LOOK AT THAT BECAUSE AFTER MONDAY'S MEETING, IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY OTHER FEEDBACK, THEN WE'LL PROBABLY START PUTTING THEM ON CALENDARS.
AND WE DO A LOT OF PLANNING AROUND BOARD MEETING DATES BECAUSE LOTS OF OTHER THINGS HINGE ON THAT.
