AFTER TAXES AND TRS CONTRIBUTIONS, THAT AMOUNT EQUATES TO ABOUT $100 PER PAY PERIOD, WHICH IS A NEGLIGIBLE AMOUNT FOR THE PROFESSIONALS THAT WE'RE ENTRUSTING WITH OUR MOST VALUABLE RESOURCES. ADDITIONALLY, SINCE 2023, DSISD HAS DROPPED THE HSA CONTRIBUTION FROM $75 TO A PAY PERIOD TO NOTHING THIS YEAR. ADDITIONALLY, TEACHERS WITH EMPLOYEE PUSH CHILDREN INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED $49 A MONTH. THIS LESS THAN STELLAR INSURANCE OFFERING HAS A $5,600 DEDUCTIBLE. I SPOKE TO A 25 YEAR TEACHER VETERAN WHO SHARED THE FOLLOWING. AFTER 25 YEARS TEACHING, I BRING HOME LESS THAN $4,000 A MONTH. AFTER HER EXPENSES, SHE'S LEFT WITH $8 IN HER BANK ACCOUNT, AND SHE HASN'T EVEN BOUGHT HER GAS OR GROCERIES YET. IN ADDITION TO THE TRA FUNDS, I WOULD EMPLOY YOU TO RE-EVALUATE OUR AVAILABLE LOCAL DOLLARS, AS WELL AS SSRA FUNDING FOR OUR OVERWORKED AND OFTEN TOO OVERLOOKED SUPPORT STAFF. IT IS A GRANT OF $1.8 MILLION THAT IT'S A FEDERAL GRANT GIVEN BY SAMSA WHICH IS A SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATION. IT'S QUITE A WONDERFUL STORY, [00:40:01] AND I THINK THERE'S PROBABLY GOING TO BE A LOT OF GOOD CELEBRATIONS THIS YEAR, AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO BEING HOPEFULLY A PART OF IT. SINCE 2010, WE HAVE RAISED AND GIFTED BACK TO THE DISTRICT OVER $3,000,000. I DON'T KNOW IF A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY ACTUALLY KNOW THAT. WE HAVE BROUGHT TOGETHER MONIES FOR ITGS, OVER $855,000, 181,000 IN SLGS AND OVER 1.8 MILLION DOLLAR AS A GIFT TO THE DISTRICT. WE ARE AN INDEPENDENT NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, MADE UP OF VOLUNTEERS THAT ARE VERY DEDICATED TO WORK TO ENHANCE THE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN DRIPPING STRINGS ITSELF. WHAT YOU SEE HERE OUR COMMUNITY SUPPORTERS. THIS IS ALL POSSIBLE BECAUSE ALL THE FUNDS COME FROM THE COMMUNITY. I'M SURE YOU RECOGNIZE A LOT OF THOSE. MANY OF THEM ARE ACTUALLY MANAGED AND RUN BY ALUMNI THAT HAVE GOT MANY, MANY YEARS HERE IN THE DISTRICT. TERRY GARNETT IS ONE OF THEM. HE'S ONE OF OUR LARGEST DONORS, AND HE STILL TALKS ABOUT PLAYING ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD. IT'S GREAT. IN 2024, OUR 24/25, WE HAD THREE KEY PROGRAMS THAT WE FUNDED. WE SUPPORTED TEACHERS IN THEIR CLASSROOMS THROUGH THE INNOVATIVE TEACHING GRANTS. WE HELPED DEVELOP LEADERSHIP IN OUR STUDENTS THROUGH SUPPORTING THEIR GRANT IDEAS. WE CHAMPION DISTRICT WIDE TEACHER SUPPORT, AS WELL AS HELPED BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN FUNDING THAT COMES FROM THE DISTRICT AND REALLY WHAT THE STUDENTS AND THE TEACHERS WOULD LIKE TO HAVE AND WHAT THEY NEED. WE WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE 12 INNOVATIVE TEACHING GRANTS, THREE STUDENT LED GRANTS, INCLUDING A PROGRAM CALLED THE BRIDGE PROGRAM, WHICH IS REALLY UNIQUE. IT'S DEVELOPED BY THE STUDENTS. IT PARTNERS INCOMING STUDENTS TO THE HIGH SCHOOL WITH JUNIORS AND SENIORS THAT HELP GUIDE THEM INTO AND ACTUALLY ARE LIKE A BUDDY PROGRAM, BRINGING THEM INTO THE HIGH SCHOOL AND EASING THEIR WAY. WE ALSO SUPPORTED THE MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS OF OUR TEACHERS, STAFF, AND STUDENTS. WE FUNDED FOUR MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS THAT WERE PROVIDED FOR USE BY TEACHERS AND STAFF AND STUDENTS TO HELP THEM THROUGH THE DAYS AND THE CHALLENGES THAT THEY HAVE. IF YOU SEE ON THIS PIE CHART, THE BREAKDOWN OF THE MONIES THAT CAME FOR LAST YEAR. THIS LAST YEAR, WE GIFTED $446,000 TO THE DISTRICT. AGAIN, THAT WAS ALL TO FUEL INNOVATION IN CLASSROOM AND TO STRENGTHEN THE LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE WITHIN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. WE RAISE THAT MONEY THROUGH THREE MAJOR EVENTS, OUR SCHOOLHOUSE SCRAMBLE, WHICH IS OUR GOLF TOURNAMENT, OUR GALA, THIS YEAR IT'S THEME WAS HEART OF A TIGER, AND THEN OUR CLAYS FOR CLASSROOMS. THE EVENT TOTAL ITSELF WAS ABOUT 351,000, AND THEN WE RAISED THE REST, AS I SAID, THROUGH THE COMMUNITY, AND THROUGH OUR DONORS, INCLUDING MANY OF THE PARENTS OF THE STUDENTS. AS WE LOOK AHEAD TO THE COMING YEAR, WE'VE GOT THREE FUNDING PRIORITIES AND THREE AREAS. WE'RE LOOKING AT CONTINUING TO FUND OUR INNOVATION FOR THE CLASSROOMS WITH FRESH IDEAS AND THE INNOVATIVE TEACHING GRANTS. THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE STARTED MANY YEARS AGO AND WE'LL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THAT. WE'LL ALSO PROVIDE STUDENT LED OPPORTUNITIES. THIS HELPS THEM EMPOWER THEIR ABILITY TO LEAD AND TO BECOME PROBLEM SOLVERS AND STRENGTHEN THEIR CAMPUS OPPORTUNITIES. ONE THING ABOUT OUR STUDENT LED GRANTS AND STUDENT LEADERSHIP GRANTS IS THE FACT THAT ANY STUDENT CAN APPLY, NOT JUST THOSE THAT ARE ANY OF THE SPECIAL OR ENHANCED EDUCATION PROGRAMS, ADVANCED EDUCATION, ANY STUDENT CAN APPLY FOR THOSE. AS WELL AS FACT THAT WE WILL THIS YEAR, TEAM UP WITH THE DISTRICT, AND WE ARE GOING TO BE PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR THE DISTRICT TEACHER RETENTION PROGRAMS TO HELP KEEP TEACHERS HERE IN THE CLASSROOMS IN DRIPPING SPRINGS. WE HAVE PRESENTED OUR FUNDING AGREEMENT TO HOLLY AND HER OFFICE, WHICH WILL HOPEFULLY BE ABLE TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT NEXT MONTH. BUT PART OF THAT, WE'VE PROPOSED $100,000. THOSE WILL BE USED TO WATER ALL OF THE GROUNDS DIRECTLY SURROUNDING THE BUILDING AND ALSO WITHIN THE COURT YARDS TO BE ABLE TO KEEP ALL THAT NICE AND GREEN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. WE ALSO HAVE GEOTHERERMAL ON THIS CAMP CAMPUS, WHICH IS ACTUALLY A NICE THING THAT IS PRETTY TYPICAL FOR DRIPPING SPRINGS ISD AND SOMETHING THAT WE ALSO DID AT SYCAMORE SPRINGS. THIS ALLOWS US TO USE THE GROUND TO HEAT AND COOL THE BUILDING THESE UNITS ARE ALSO LOCATED WITHIN A MECHANICAL MEZZANINE, WHICH ALLOWS THEM TO BE MORE EFFICIENT OVERALL AND HAVE A LONGER LIFESPAN. THE SUNLIGHT ON THE CAMPUS. WE'VE TRIED TO USE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE THAT NORTH AND SOUTH FAÇADE TO GET THE DAYLIGHT WHILE NOT USING MANY WINDOWS AT ALL ON THE WEST FAÇADE SO THAT WE DON'T GET MUCH OF THAT HARSH SUNLIGHT THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND OVERHEAT THE BUILDING. THEN WE ALSO HAVE A USE OF DARK SKY FRIENDLY LIGHTING ON THE SITE THAT IS USED WHERE WE CAN. OBVIOUSLY, THERE'S SOME AREAS LIKE ATHLETIC FIELDS THAT IT BECOMES A LITTLE BIT MORE DIFFICULT TO FIND. BUT AS MUCH AS WE CAN, WE USE DARK SKY FRIENDLY EXTERIOR LIGHTING. THEN THERE'S ALSO AN EFFORT TO TRY TO PRESERVE AS MANY HERITAGE TREES ON THIS CAMPUS AS POSSIBLE. IN THE DARK GREEN, WE HAVE AN ATHLETICS BUILDING, WHICH IS SEPARATED FROM THE MAIN CAMPUS, STILL ALL SECURED WITHIN FENCING, BUT IT'S JUST STEPPED AWAY A LITTLE BIT SO THAT WHENEVER THERE IS ANY EVENTS, THAT AREA CAN BE SHUT OFF, AND NOBODY IS ACCESSING THE MAIN BUILDING. THE LIGHT PINK IS ALL OF THE FINE ARTS AREAS. THAT IS THE AUDITORIUM, THE MUSIC, AND THE VISUAL ARTS. THOSE VISUAL ARTS ALSO HAVE SPILL OUT WITHIN THAT COURTYARD SPACE SO THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO GO OUT AND WORK IN THERE AND THEY HAVE POWER, WATER, BE ABLE TO BE CREATIVE OUT IN THE OUTDOOR SPACE. THE STUDENT UNION IS MADE UP OF THE CAFETERIA AND LIBRARY SPACES, SO THAT IS THE RED AND YELLOW. THAT IS WHERE THE STUDENT ENTRY IS AND WHERE THEY CAN ALSO ACCESS OUTDOOR DINING FOR THE COURTYARD. THEN ON THE SECOND FLOOR, ALL THOSE MAIN ACADEMICS ARE ACROSS THAT TOP BAR AGAIN. THEN AT ATHLETICS, WE HAVE DANCE AND THE TWO AUXILIARY GYMS. THIS IS A LOOK AT THE COURTYARD PLAN. ONE OF THE MAIN THINGS THAT I JUST WANT TO HIT ON THIS IS ONE [00:55:04] THAT MAIN EVENTS PLAZA THAT GOES UP INTO THE COURTYARD AREA. THEN THERE ARE MULTIPLE AREAS WITHIN THIS COURTYARD, BASED OFF OF STUDENT RECOMMENDATIONS AND INVOLVEMENT, THEY WANTED TO SEE AREAS THAT THEY COULD SPILL OUT, HAVE SMALL GROUP LEARNING, GET TO COLLABORATE, BUT ALSO LARGE AREAS THAT ARE COVERED, HAVE SOME SHADE, WHERE A WHOLE CLASS COULD COME OUT WITH THEIR TEACHER AND BE ABLE TO SPEND TIME OUTSIDE AND LEARN. I'M GOING TO MOVE INTO THE RENDERINGS. THIS IS AN OVERALL VIEW OF THE CAMPUS. ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE IMAGE, YOU CAN SEE DARDEN HILL AND THE MAIN ENTRY OF THE CAMPUS. THE STADIUM IS THERE AS WELL, SO THAT IS A JV STADIUM WITH 1,000 SEATS FOR NOW, BUT THE INFRASTRUCTURE HAS BEEN PROVIDED SO THAT IF ONE DAY IT EVER BECOMES A FULL STADIUM, YOU DON'T HAVE TO RUN ALL THAT LATER. IT'S ALL THERE PROVIDED. WHEN THE TIME COMES, YOU'RE READY TO GO. THERE'S ALSO TWO ATHLETIC FIELDS BACK THERE FOR PRACTICE, THE TENNIS COURTS AND THEN BASEBALL SOFTBALL. THEN OUR TEACHERS WITH YEARS 1 OR 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE. THEY'RE GOING TO RECEIVE A $1,700 SALARY INCREASE. OUR TEACHERS WITH THREE OR FOUR YEARS OF EXPERIENCE ARE GOING TO RECEIVE $2,500 INCREASE, AND THEN OUR TEACHERS WITH FIVE OR MORE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE ARE GOING TO SEE THAT $5,000 SALARY INCREASE. WE'RE SUPER EXCITED. WE KNOW THAT WE CAN NEVER PAY OUR TEACHERS ENOUGH, BUT WE ARE EXCITED TO BE ABLE TO SEE A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE FOR THOSE TEACHERS. WE DO HAVE THAT SCALE. IT'S A STRAIGHT. THIS IS YOUR YEARS OF EXPERIENCE. THIS IS YOUR SALARY. WE WILL HAVE THOSE CHANGES COMING IN SEPTEMBER. FOR OUR NON-TEACHING STAFF, WE'RE GOING TO BE IN ORDER TO REWARD AND RETAIN THOSE EMPLOYEES, WE'RE GOING TO BE RECOMMENDING THAT THE BOARD ADOPT THIS COMPENSATION PLAN WITH A 3% MIDPOINT INCREASE. FOR OUR EMPLOYEES WHO ARE ON PAY SCALES, SO THAT'S A CLERICAL, TECHNICAL, OR AUXILIARY ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONAL OR ALL OF THOSE PAY SCALES. WE'RE LOOKING AT THE 3% MIDPOINT SALARY INCREASE. BUT THEN ADDITIONALLY, WORKING WITH FINANCE, HE'S BEEN ABLE TO ADJUST ALL OF THOSE SCALES. ALL OF THOSE MINIMUM MIDPOINTS AND MAXIMUMS ARE GOING TO REFLECT A 1.5% INCREASE OVER LAST YEAR'S SCALES. OUR GENERAL FUND IS ABOUT 49.1 MILLION IN FUND BALANCE, WHICH EQUATES ABOUT SIX MONTHS WORTH OF OPERATING EXPENDITURES, AND THAT EXCEEDS THE DISTRICT'S POLICY OF FOUR MONTHS. WE'RE ALSO WELL WITHIN THE 2% POLICY ON DEFICIT, AND SO IN YOUR GENERAL FUND, WHICH IS YOUR DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS, WE'RE LOOKING AT REVENUES ENDING THE YEAR, ABOUT 98.5 MILLION AND EXPENDITURES ABOUT 99. AS I SAID, FUND BALANCE, WE'RE LOOKING AT ENDING AROUND 49.1 MILLION RECAPTURE TO ROB'S POINT, 11.7 MILLION THAT EQUALS ABOUT 12% OF TOTAL OPERATING EXPENDITURES. YOUR CHILD NUTRITION OR YOUR CAFETERIA PROGRAM, TOTAL REVENUES WERE ABOUT 4.6, EXPENDITURES 4.1. WE INCREASED THE FUND BALANCE TO 1.9 MILLION, SO IT WAS AN INCREASE OF ABOUT 500K. DEBT SERVICE, WHICH IS YOUR BOND PAYMENTS REVENUES 42.2, EXPENDITURES 18.4, AND THE FUND BALANCE GREW TO ABOUT 59.5 MILLION DOLLAR. NOW, KEEP IN MIND THAT FUND BALANCE IS USED TO PAY THE AUGUST BOND PAYMENTS. THE BOARD ASKED THIS QUESTION LAST WEEK ABOUT THE DEFEASANCE. WE'RE LOOKING AT ABOUT 23.9 MILLION IN DEFEASANCE, AND THAT'S GOING TO SAVE AN ESTIMATED 4 MILLION IN INTEREST COSTS. THE AVERAGE RATE THAT WE WERE PAYING ON THE BONDS BEING DEFEACED WAS ABOUT 4.87%. THAT'S GOOD FOR THE DISTRICT. IT ALSO HELPS WITH CAPACITY GOING FORWARD AND OTHER PROJECTS THAT WE MAY NEED TO DO. THEN LASTLY, TAX COLLECTIONS, [01:50:03] WE'VE COLLECTED ABOUT 119 MILLION IN TOTAL. 81.5 OF THAT WAS WITH M&O, AND 37.7 MILLION WAS IN IMS. REAL QUICK. WE DID NOT TALK ABOUT THIS LAST WEEK, BUT IN THE REPORTS IS A 10 YEAR HISTORY OF CERTIFIED VALUES. THIS WAS SOMETHING, SINCE I'M NEW TO THE DISTRICT, JUST GOING BACK AND LOOKING FROM 2016-2025, THE DISTRICT'S PROPERTY VALUES NEARLY DOUBLED. WE WERE AT 3.3 BILLION IN 2016, 9.9 BILLION IN 2025, I SHOULD SAY IT MORE THAN DOUBLED. WHEN YOU LOOK AT THAT 10 YEAR HISTORY IN 2023, 2022-2023, YOU'LL SEE A DECREASE IN THE VALUES, BUT KEEP IN MIND IN 2023, THAT'S WHEN THE VOTERS WENT OUT IN NOVEMBER AND ELECTED TO BRING THE HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION UP TO 100,000. LIKEWISE, WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE VERY LAST COLUMN, YOU ONLY SEE A 0.88% INCREASE IN VALUES. THAT'S ASSUMING THIS NOVEMBER, THE VOTERS WILL GO OUT AND APPROVE A HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION OF 140,000. THEN LASTLY, ON OUR QUARTERLY INVESTMENT REPORT, THIS IS THROUGH THE YEAR, BUT WE'VE EARNED ABOUT 8 MILLION IN INTEREST INCOME IN TOTAL. ALL OUR INVESTMENTS ARE EITHER AAA RATED OR FULLY INSURED COLLATERALIZED. OUR PORTFOLIO IS VERY SHORT-TERM, AVERAGING ONLY 25 DAYS TO MATURITY. 94% OF OUR FUNDS CURRENTLY ARE IN HIGHLY RATED STATE INVESTMENT POLLS IN MONEY MARKETS. WE GOT ABOUT 6% HELD IN COLLATERALIZED BANK DEPOSITS, AND OF THOSE POLLS, OUR LARGEST ALLOCATIONS ARE IN TEXAS CLASS AT 59%, TEXAS DAILY AT 14 AND TEXAS FIT AT 17. OUR CURRENT YIELD IS 4.24%, WHICH IS RIGHT IN LINE WITH THE US TREASURY BENCHMARKS. THEN JUST A POINT OF INTEREST OR CLARIFICATION, THE NEXT MAJOR MATURITY IS COMING IN NOVEMBER WHEN WE HAVE ABOUT $20 MILLION IN PRINCIPAL AND 342,000 IN INTEREST COMING BACK INTO THE GENERAL FUND. WE HAD AN INVESTMENT LOCKED UP SOMEWHAT LONG TERM, AND THAT WAS WHY WE WERE AT 25 DAYS TO MATURITY WHEN MOST POOLS ARE AVERAGING ONE DAY, BUT THERE ARE NO LIQUIDITY CONCERNS FROM NOW TILL THEN. WE'RE GOOD. JUST A LITTLE BIT OF A TAKEAWAY, THE DISTRICT'S INVESTMENTS ARE SAFE, CONSERVATIVE, AND I THINK THEY'RE EARNING SOME STRONG RETURNS. THOSE ARE MY REPORTS.
