THIS MEETING IS BEING RECORDED. WE HAVE A NUMBER OF EXCITING RECOGNITIONS AND STUDENT PRESENTATIONS THIS EVENING, SO BEAR WITH US ON TIMING. BUT BEFORE THAT, I WOULD LIKE TO INVITE THIS EVENING'S PLEDGE LEADERS UP TO THE FRONT FOR OUR OPENING CEREMONIES TO LEAD US IN THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. THIS EVENING'S PLEDGE LEADERS ARE FOURTH GRADERS AT OUR LEARNING SPOTLIGHT CAMPUS THIS MONTH, ROOSTER SPRINGS ELEMENTARY, BEN TABARRO AND NOEL LINDIG.

THE TIGER SOFTBALL TEAM DEFEATED ROUND ROCK, STONY POINT LAST WEEKEND TO ADVANCE TO THE AREA PLAYOFFS AND WILL FACE SAN ANTONIO O'CONNOR THIS WEEK. BASEBALL TEAM DEFEATED WESTLAKE ON SATURDAY AND WILL BEGIN THEIR PLAYOFF RUN THIS WEEK AGAINST ROUND ROCK MCNEIL.

PLAYOFF DETAILS FOR BOTH TEAMS WILL BE SHARED ON THE DISTRICT'S SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS.

WE ALSO HAVE TWO TIGERS WHO WILL REPRESENT DRIPPING SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL IN THE UIL STATE TRACK AND FIELD MEET ON MAY 2ND AND THIRD IN AUSTIN.

CONGRATULATIONS TO JUNIOR ADELINE SPIES AND FRESHMAN IZZY CREWE ON CAPTURING REGIONAL TITLES IN THE EVENTS POLE VAULT AND SHOT PUT.

NATIONAL HISTORY DAY IS A NATIONWIDE PROGRAM WHERE STUDENTS ACTUALLY GET TO DO HISTORICAL RESEARCH, AND IN THAT HISTORICAL RESEARCH, THEY GET TO CREATE SOME SORT OF PRODUCT.

AND FROM THAT PRODUCT, THEY GO TO A REGIONAL COMPETITION, AND YOU HAVE TO PLACE FIRST OR SECOND IN THE REGIONAL COMPETITION TO GO TO THE STATE COMPETITION AND YOU GET TO PLACE IF YOU PLACE FIRST OR STATE FIRST OR SECOND IN THE STATE COMPETITION, YOU GO TO THE NATIONAL COMPETITION. AND THESE TWO GET TO GO TO THE NATIONAL COMPETITION AGAIN.

IN JANUARY, WE ARE GIVEN A GAME WHERE WE HAVE TO COMPLETE CERTAIN CHALLENGES.

SO THIS YEAR, WE HAD TO GRAB THESE PVC PIPES THAT ARE CARVED CORAL AND THEY WOULD GO AROUND THIS A LITTLE BIT OF TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES. SO I CAN START TELLING YOU ABOUT OUR ACHIEVEMENTS.

AT OUR FIRST COMPETITION, WE WERE AWARDED WITH THE EXCELLENCE IN ENGINEERING AWARD.

AT OUR SECOND COMPETITION, WE WERE AWARDED WITH THE PRESTIGIOUS IMPACT AWARD FOR OUR OUTREACH WITHIN AND OUTSIDE OF OUR COMMUNITY SPREADING STEM.

AND THEN AT THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, WE WERE ON THE WINNING ALLIANCE OF BOTH OUR FIELD AND THE WHOLE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, WHICH ALLOWED US TO ADVANCE ONTO THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, WHERE WE UNFORTUNATELY DID NOT PERFORM AS WELL AS WE WOULD HAVE LIKED, BUT WE HAD AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE FOR OUR FUTURE.

FOR THOSE THAT DON'T KNOW, DANCE AT THE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL IS A YEAR LONG SPORT, AND THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS THIS YEAR HAVE BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF REMARKABLE.

THROUGH DEDICATION, TEAMWORK, AND COUNTLESS, EMPHASIZE THE COUNTLESS HOURS OF PRACTICE.

FIRST WAS CYPRESS SPRINGS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TOUR.

KIM. I REALLY DID ENJOY THAT SCHOOL VISIT THE LIGHTHOUSE TEAM.

THEY TOOK US AROUND AND WE GOT TO WATCH THE FIRST GRADE EGG DROP WITH PEDERNALES ELECTRIC.

THEY SHOWED UP AND BROUGHT THEIR BIG BUCKET IN THE BACK OF THEIR TRUCK, AND THOSE KIDS GOT TO DROP ALL OF THEIR EGGS FROM THE TOP OF THE TRUCK.

WE ALSO GOT TO SEE A LESSON ON FOSSILS, AND WE ACTUALLY GOT TO GO INTO THE CLASSROOM AND DIG IN THE DIRT AND TRY TO FIND THE PARTICULAR FOSSILS THAT THE TEACHERS WERE LOOKING AT. WE GOT TO TALK ABOUT CAMPUS PLANS FOR A NEW GARDEN.

THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE A FARMERS MARKET ON CAMPUS.

AND I GUESS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE VISIT FOR ME WAS ALL OF THE PERSONAL THANK YOU CARDS AND POSTERS AND MESSAGES THAT WERE WRITTEN TO EACH AND EVERY SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER. WELL, KIM, I DIDN'T REALIZE YOU WERE THE ONLY ONE OF US THAT MADE THE TAXPAYER TUESDAY. GO AHEAD. GIVE US YOUR HIGHLIGHT OF THAT TOO.

JUST KEEP TALKING. THIS WAS THERE THAT THAT WAS A LOT OF FUN AS WELL.

WE GOT TO LISTEN TO OUR BOND ROAD SHOW, WHICH WAS I MEAN, IT JUST GETS BETTER EVERY TIME YOU HEAR IT, AND I LEARN SOMETHING, BUT I THINK THE HIGHLIGHT TO ME WAS WATCHING THE RELATIONSHIPS WITH THEIR NEW PRINCIPAL WALKING UP TO HER IN THE HALL AND HUGGING HER AND HIGH FIVING HER. AND YOU COULD JUST FEEL THE ATMOSPHERE IN THAT BUILDING, BECAUSE AT OUR LAST MONTH'S MEETING THAT DECISION WAS MADE TO HIRE HER AS THE PRINCIPAL, AND IT WAS JUST REALLY GOOD TO HAVE THAT FEEDBACK AND ACTUALLY GET TO WITNESS IT IN PERSON.

ON WHAT A GREAT JOB SHE'S DOING ON THAT CAMPUS.

TO THINK THAT THIS IS THE OLD SCHOOL, IT IS JUST HARD BECAUSE IT'S BEEN THE NEW SCHOOL FOREVER.

MY DAUGHTER WENT THERE AND IT WAS NEW AND NOW IT'S OLD.

THAT MAKE, SO I'M OLD, BUT IT'S SHE WENT THROUGH THE DESIGN AND WHAT THEY'RE GOING TO DO.

AND THERE'S SOME GREAT PLANS AHEAD. IF THE MOD IS SUCCESSFUL.

THIS CAMPUS IS COMING TOGETHER. SO AWESOME. I WAS ACTUALLY ABLE THIS WEEKEND AT FOUNDERS DAY TO TALK TO SOME FAMILIES THAT ARE HEADED THERE BECAUSE JUST, I DON'T KNOW, THE LAYOUT IS PERFECT. THE KIDDOS IN THE CLASSROOM ARE GOING TO BE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT HOW JUST THE HALLWAYS, LIKE IN THE BACK, I DON'T KNOW, JUST THAT WHOLE SETUP TO ME IS AMAZING.

I THINK THE TEACHERS ARE GOING TO LOVE IT WITH THE WINDOWS IN EVERY CLASSROOM. THAT'S GOING TO BE REALLY HELPFUL FOR THEIR NEIGHBOR TO BE ABLE TO CHECK ON THEM AND WATCH THEIR KIDDOS IF THEY HAVE TO GO DO ANYTHING. BUT THIS CAMPUS IS REALLY COMING AROUND.

THE PLAYGROUND, I THINK IS GOING TO BE SUPER FUN.

THE WAY THAT THEY DESCRIBED HOW THE HILL WAS GOING TO BE A SLIDE OR A ROCK CLIMB BUT I'M REALLY EXCITED FOR THE KIDDOS THAT GET TO GO HERE, AND I'M REALLY EXCITED TO SEE THE FINAL PRODUCT.

SO I WAS ABLE TO GO TO THE CLAY SHOOT. AND THEN IN THE EVENING TIME, WE SAT DOWN WITH THE TROOP WHO ALL SAT AROUND THE, THE PODIUM, AND THEY ENJOYED OUR MICROPHONES AND ASKED US QUESTIONS, AND WE WERE ABLE TO ANSWER AND LET THEM KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WE DID AND HOW WE IMPACTED THE COMMUNITY. AND THEY, OF COURSE, HAD QUESTIONS ABOUT RUNNING, AND THERE WERE JUST ALL THESE DIFFERENT QUESTIONS.

AND I'M VERY GRATEFUL THAT THE GROUP ACTUALLY REACHED OUT TO US, BECAUSE IT'S SO GOOD TO BE ABLE TO LET THE KIDDOS KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WE DO, WHAT OUR PURPOSE IS, THAT WE'RE HERE FOR THEM AND TO HELP THEM.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT, IT'S A VOLUNTEER PROGRAM, SO THE STUDENTS IN SYCAMORE MIDDLE, DRIPPING SPRINGS MIDDLE, AND THE HIGH SCHOOL, THEY VOLUNTEER AFTER SCHOOL AND WORK WITH ONE OF THEIR INSTRUCTORS, AND THEY COME TOGETHER AND THEY PUT ON A JAZZ CONCERT THAT PEOPLE WOULD STAND IN LINE AND BUY TICKETS TO, TO COME AND SEE THESE KIDS.

THEY ARE INCREDIBLY, INCREDIBLY TALENTED. I MEAN, I'VE JUST NEVER SEEN SO MANY PEOPLE IN A ROOM JUST REALLY PRAISING THOSE CHILDREN.

KIND OF. ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EVENT WAS ONE OF THE BAND DIRECTORS AT SYCAMORE MIDDLE HAD WON A TEACHER GRANT A YEAR AGO, AND SHE INTRODUCED THE EQUIPMENT IN THE CONCERT AND TOLD EVERYBODY IN THE ROOM ABOUT IT AND HOW SHE LIKES TO SHARE THAT WITH THE DISTRICT AND THE PURPOSE OF THE EQUIPMENT. AND IT WAS JUST AMAZING TO WITNESS.

IT WAS A GREAT EVENING. AND MARY JANE, IS THAT TENNIS? YES, YES, AND I JUST YOU SAID GRANT. AND SO I JUST WANTED TO SAY SPECIFICALLY A DRIPPING SPRINGS EDUCATION FOUNDATION GRANT.

GOT A PLUG WITH THE. YES. AND SO LOWER LEFT. LEFT IS THE STUDENT LEADERSHIP GRANT KIND OF PAW PATROL, AS WE CALL IT. AND I JUST WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT SOMETHING THAT'S A FAIRLY NEW DEVELOPMENT IN RECENT YEARS.

SO ON THE LEFT, COURTNEY DEAVERS IS SOMEONE WHO YOU KNOW, CHOSE A GRANT THAT WAS VERY MEANINGFUL TO HER TO AWARD SPECIFICALLY AS OPPOSED TO JUST SLF'S IN GENERAL.

AND YES, THAT IS A DAY AT A HOME TENNIS MATCH.

COACH NORMAN, THIS IS HER FIRST YEAR. SHE WAS A PLAYER HERSELF, I LEARNED DID THE USTA CIRCUIT, AND THERE ARE SIX SENIORS, SO I KNOW THEY'RE VERY GRATEFUL TO HAVE SUCH A GREAT COACH THIS YEAR.

AND LAST IS ME. YOU PROBABLY CAN'T TELL IN THE TINY PICTURE THERE, BUT NO, I WAS SO HONORED TO BE THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL HONOR SOCIETY THIS YEAR. THEY HAD THE LARGEST CLASS THEY TOOK EVER THIS YEAR, AND IT WAS STANDING ROOM ONLY.

EVEN IN OUR AUDITORIUM, I THINK THERE WAS PROBABLY ABOUT 30, 40 PEOPLE HAVING TO STAND.

WHICH IS YET ANOTHER REASON WHY WE ACTUALLY NEED A SECOND HIGH SCHOOL.

BECAUSE TALKING TO THE SPONSOR, SHE SORT OF HALF JOKINGLY WAS LIKE, EITHER WE NEED TO MAKE OUR, YOU KNOW, CREDENTIAL, LIKE OUR QUALIFICATIONS MORE STRICT.

AND, YOU KNOW, WE CAN'T TAKE AS MANY KIDS THAT TRULY ARE QUALIFIED OR, YOU KNOW, WE NEED TO FIND ANOTHER SPACE, BUT THERE'S NOT REALLY ANY OTHER SPACES, AS YOU KNOW AROUND DRIPPING SPRINGS.

SO IT WAS STILL A LOVELY EVENING FANNING OURSELVES WITH THE PROGRAMS AND EVERYTHING.

I FEEL LIKE I'VE ALREADY REPORTED ON THIS. I DON'T TELL ME WILDWOOD SPRINGS ELEMENTARY DID ELECT THEIR NEW BOARD, RIGHT? OKAY. ONE THING THAT I DIDN'T KNOW IS THAT THREE OF THOSE POSITIONS ACTUALLY REQUIRED BALLOT VOTES BECAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE WERE INTERESTED IN SERVING THERE.

SO IT WASN'T JUST LIKE, HEY, PLEASE COME AND SERVE.

AND EVERYONE WHO WAS THERE GOT APPOINTED. SO YEAH, THAT WAS GREAT.

THEY VOTE RIGHT. NO, NO, NO. I ALSO WANTED TO UPDATE.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS A GREAT NUMBER. WE HAD 3245 TOTAL PTA MEMBERS IN OUR DISTRICT

WHICH I THOUGHT WAS A PRETTY HIGH NUMBER. YEAH, IT WAS A LOT.

THE SUMMER CONFERENCE FOR BOARD MEMBERS, PTA BOARD MEMBERS IS JULY 18TH THROUGH 20TH, AND THEY ARE ENCOURAGING EVERY PTA IN THE DISTRICT TO SEND A GROUP THERE. THEY HELD THEIR DRIPPING SPRINGS ISD BOARD CANDIDATE FORUM, AND ALL THREE OF THE CANDIDATES ATTENDED.

I WAS THERE. IT WAS GREAT. THEY DO A REALLY GOOD JOB HOSTING THAT.

THE OH, I DO WANT TO HIGHLIGHT THAT THE COUNCIL RECEIVED A PTA ADVOCACY IMPACT AWARD FOR THEIR WORK AT THE PTA RALLY DAY AND THEN SEVERAL OF THE LOCAL PTAS ALSO RECEIVED A RECOGNITION FOR THAT.

THEY ALSO PARTNERED THE COUNCIL PARTNERED WITH EACH OF THE LOCAL PTAS TO FACILITATE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FOR THE UPCOMING BOND REFERENDUM. THE LOCAL PTAS WERE ALL GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY.

HOLLY. THEY DID THE BOND ROADSHOW, LIKE KIM WAS SAYING, AND TO EACH OF THE PTAS AND ALL OF OUR LOCAL PTAS DID CALL FOR A RESOLUTION. PASSED A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE 2025 BOND.

SO THEY DID A ROLL CALL AT THIS MEETING, AND EACH OF THEM TALKED, YOU KNOW, GAVE THEIR DATE OF PASSING THIS REFERENDUM.

SO OUR RESOLUTIONS, WE ARE HAVING OUR NEXT MEETING ON MAY 12TH.

AND THEN THEY ALSO ELECTED NEW OFFICERS FOR THE COUNCIL.

OUR PRESIDENT NEXT YEAR WILL BE KRISTOPHER SCHULTZ AGAIN.

SO TWO YEAR TERM THERE. I THINK THAT'S IT. KIM I STARTED LAST WEEK ATTENDING THE FINAL ATHLETES SIGNING AT THE HIGH SCHOOL. WE HAVE A TOTAL OF 33 ATHLETES THAT HAVE SIGNED THIS YEAR, WHICH IS A NEW DRIPPING SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL RECORD.

INTERESTING LITTLE STORY. WHEN I WAS DRIVING UP IN THE PARKING LOT, THERE WAS A FAMILY NEXT TO ME GETTING OUT OF THEIR CAR.

I MET WITH THEM SIX YEARS AGO. THEY'RE TRYING TO DECIDE WHERE THEIR CHILDREN WERE GOING TO GO TO HIGH SCHOOL.

AND WE SAT AND WE TALKED FOR ABOUT TWO HOURS, AND I TOLD THEM EVERYTHING I KNEW ABOUT DRIPPING SPRINGS.

AND AS WE WERE WALKING IN AND ONE OF THEIR CHILDREN WERE SIGNING A LETTER OF INTENT TO GO PLAY COLLEGE SPORTS.

THEY SAID IT WAS THE BEST DECISION I EVER MADE AND JUST HAD GREAT, GREAT THINGS TO SAY ABOUT DRIPPING SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL.
