YOU SAW SOME OF THOSE SAMPLES PREVIOUSLY IN ANOTHER BOARD MEETING. SO HOPEFULLY WE HAVE A GOOD HANDLE ON IT. OUR RIGOR IS WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE. SO THAT STUDENTS, THIS SHOULD BE A REALLY EASY BAR FOR OUR STUDENTS AND WE WILL GET THERE. BUT WHEN YOU COMPARE US ON THE SAME TEST WITH APPROACHES, MEETS, AND MASTERS TO THE REGION AND THE STATE, WE'RE WELL ABOVE, AND JUST LIKE I SAID, THE WHOLE STATE WENT DOWN AND THE REGION WENT DOWN IN MATH. THAT'S HERE. LET'S SEE, LAST YEAR THEY WERE AT 75. NOW THEY'RE 72, BOTH OF THEM CRAZY ENOUGH. AND FOR APPROACHES AND THEN 47 FOR MEETS AND MASTERS AND 22 EACH FOR THE MASTERS. SO IN EVERY AREA FOR MATH, THEY'VE GONE DOWN IN EVERY DESIGNATION BREAKDOWN. FOR READING, WE SAW A SLIGHT UPTICK IN THE MEETS, WHICH IS GREAT. THAT'S GOOD NEWS. IT'S 1% 1% POINT, BUT IT'S STILL AN UPTICK. AND THEN THE OTHER TWO ARE JUST A LITTLE BIT LOWER. THE STATE WE ARE STILL FAR ABOVE WHERE THE REGION AND THE STATE ENDS UP WITH THOSE SCORES. ALSO ON SECTION ONE OF THE TAPER ANNUAL REPORT IS OUR ATTENDANCE RATE. AND IF YOU LOOK AT THOSE DATES, YES, YOU ARE CORRECT. IT'S 2223. ATTENDANCE RATE FOR THE DISTRICT OVERALL WAS 9690 4.6. IF YOU RECALL THAT WE HAVE A GOAL THIS YEAR OF GETTING UP TO 96% ATTENDANCE RATE BECAUSE, AS YOU RECALL, ALSO, THAT'S HOW WE'RE FUNDED. CURRENTLY WE DID A CHECK AND WE'RE AT 95.26% YEAR TO DATE. SO WE'RE GETTING THERE. WE'RE GETTING A LITTLE BIT BETTER. IT'LL ALL COME OUT IN THE WASH AT THE END OF THE YEAR. BUT THESE THIS IS A LAGGING INDICATOR. SO WE WON'T KNOW THIS YEAR'S DATA. AND I THOUGHT IT WAS REALLY INTERESTING JUST FOR YOUR EYES TO SEE OUR KIDS MOSTLY GRADUATE WITH THAT DISTINGUISHED LEVEL OF ACCOMPLISHMENT OR ACHIEVEMENT, I SHOULD SAY, AT 92%. THAT IS THE HIGHEST LEVEL. SO IT'S FOUR YEARS OF MATH WITH ALGEBRA TWO BEING REQUIRED AND FOUR YEARS OF SCIENCE WITH AN ENDORSEMENT. THAT'S WHERE A MAJORITY OF KIDS COME FROM. THESE ARE JUST ON THE GRADUATES. SO THE PERCENTAGE OF SPECIAL EDUCATION IS 8.9% OF STUDENTS THAT GRADUATED IN 2023 WERE SPECIAL EDUCATION. SAME THING WITH ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED. 7.7 OF OUR 23 GRADUATES WERE ECONOMICALLY, ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED. AND THEN IT JUST GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN THE COMPLETERS. IF YOU RECALL CTE COMPLETER, THE STUDENTS HAVE TO COMPLETE THREE OR MORE PATHWAY COURSES TO BE COUNTED AS A CTE COMPLETER. SO IT'S IN A PROGRAM OF STUDY. SO THREE OR MORE COURSES IN THE SAME PROGRAM OF STUDY. WHAT WE LIKE TO DO IS SAY TAKE WHAT YOU WANT TO TAKE. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO ALIGN TO A PATHWAY. SO WE MIGHT HAVE A LITTLE BIT SMALLER NUMBER THAN THE STATE BECAUSE WE WANT KIDS TO TAKE WHAT THEIR PASSION IS NOT. OH, YOU STARTED IN THIS. YOU HAVE TO FINISH IN THIS. BUT THERE'S NO BACK FLOW FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE. SO WE DON'T KNOW HOW MANY OF OUR STUDENTS ARE ACTUALLY ENLISTING. AND IT WOULD JUST BE FROM FAMILIES. BASICALLY REPRESENTING THE NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL THAT'S BEING BUILT. THE SCALE WAS ABOUT 100FT BY 100FT. WELL, TO SCALE. AND STUDENTS HAD LIMITED SUPPLIES AS THEIR CONSTRAINTS. AND ALSO HAD TO MAKE ORTHOGRAPHIC AND ISOMETRIC SKETCHES OF THEIR PROJECT. THE STUDENTS HAD TO USE WHITE GLUE OR HOT GLUE GUN. SORRY. AND HAD TO CHOOSE A THEME FOR THEIR PROJECT TOO. HERE'S PRESTON TALKING ABOUT HIS PROJECT. HI. SO, THIS IS MY PROJECT. LET ME PULL OUT MY NOTES. OKAY. SO BASICALLY, IN THIS PROJECT MY THEME WITH MY GROUP WAS A MEDIEVAL THEME. AND SO, IN THIS PROJECT WITH MY GROUP, I LEARNED HOW TO COLLABORATE WITH TEAM MEMBERS AND HOW TO SCALE THINGS UP OR DOWN. ON THIS PROJECT, I CHOSE THIS. [00:40:01] THIS IS MINE. MY DESIGN WAS NOTED AS ONE OF THE BEST CRAFTED BECAUSE OF MY EXCELLENT NOTE TAKING, AND THE SIMPLISTIC DESIGN MEANT IT WAS EASY TO HAVE A CLEAN STRUCTURE WITH A MINIMAL SHOWING GLUE. ALL RIGHT. SO I DON'T KNOW IF YOU GUYS CAUGHT THAT, BUT WE ARE TRYING TO TIE AS MUCH BACK TO THE COMMUNITY WITH THIS CLASS AND SO WE WERE WE WERE DESIGNING, PRETENDING TO DESIGN FOR OUR NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL THAT'S BEING BUILT. SO. OUR NEXT PROJECT WOULD BE OPERATION BUILDER BRIDGE. IN THIS PROJECT, THIS WAS OUR FIRST PROJECT WHERE WE HAD TO WORK WITH WEIGHTS AND OUR BUILDING A STRUCTURE TO SUPPORT WEIGHT AS MUCH AS WE POSSIBLY COULD. I'M ON THE SECOND TO THE LEFT WITH MY GROUP WHERE WE SUPPORTED THE MOST WEIGHT. AND THIS WAS ALSO A HELPFUL PROJECT BECAUSE WE LEARNED HOW TO ENGAGE STRUCTURAL FORCES LIKE TENSION AND COMPRESSION. AND THEN WE HAD TO MAKE USE OF THEM TO CREATE A SOUND STRUCTURE AND MORE TEAMWORK AND THAT KIND OF THING. AND IT WAS FUN TO HAVE A COMPETITION TO SEE WHO COULD SUPPORT THE MOST WEIGHT. OKAY. OUR LAST PROJECT. I THINK IT STARTED LAST YEAR. OUR LAST PROJECT WOULD BE BALSA TOWER CHALLENGE. THE TWO MAIN IDEAS FOR THIS PROJECT WERE VERY LIMITED MATERIAL AND MINIMUM SIZE CONSTRAINTS. SO AS A CLASS, WE LEARN TO BUILD SMALL SCALE STRUCTURES WITH A LARGE BRAKING LOAD. IN ADDITION, WE LEARNED HOW TO COORDINATE AS A GROUP TO MAINTAIN MATERIAL. THE STEPS WE TOOK TO CREATE THE DESIGN WAS. FIRST, WE LOOKED AND RESEARCHED INTERESTING DESIGN CONCEPTS FOR STRONG STRUCTURAL SUPPORT. AFTER DOING THIS, WE SETTLED ON THE SYMMETRICAL LIKE STRUCTURALLY SOUND DESIGN THAT WAS BASICALLY A BOX THAT HAD A BUNCH OF TRIANGLES INSIDE WITH THE MOST SOUND STRUCTURE I COULD THINK OF. AND ONCE WE HAD OUR IDEA OF WHAT WE WANTED TO MAKE, WE SKETCHED OUT OUR DESIGN IN OUR NOTEBOOKS THAT HAD PINPOINT ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS THAT WOULD BASICALLY BRING OUR IDEA TO LIFE. ONCE WE DID THIS STEP OF THE PROCESS, WE WERE ABLE TO TAKE OUR 20 STICKS OF BALSA WOOD, MEASURE THEM CORRECTLY, AND THEN ASSEMBLE IT WITH HOT GLUE. AND AFTER DOING THAT, THIS IS HOW WE CREATED OUR TOWER. WHAT I LEARNED FROM THIS PROJECT WAS THE IMPORTANCE OF PLANNING THINGS OUT AND USING MATERIAL EFFICIENTLY. I GOT MY IDEA FROM A TELEPHONE TOWER BECAUSE IT CAN HOLD A DECENT AMOUNT OF WEIGHT ON TOP, AND IT USES MINIMAL MATERIALS. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS PROJECT, SEEING HOW WELL MY TOWER DID, HOLDING OVER 80 POUNDS WITHOUT FAILURE. SO I THOUGHT THIS PROJECT WAS FUN AND I ENJOYED IT A LOT. SO THESE ARE OUR FUTURE PROJECTS. WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN ON TINKERCAD AND ONSHAPE, AND THEN WE ARE ALSO GOING TO START WORKING ON MECHANICAL SYSTEMS, KIND OF LIKE GEARS AND MAYBE ENGINES SOMETIME MAYBE, I DON'T KNOW. IT'S A SURPRISE I THINK. YES. YEAH, YEAH, YEAH. SO, I JUST WANTED TO SHOW MY APPRECIATION FOR YOU GUYS ALLOWING THIS TYPE OF PROGRAM TO EXIST. HER KIDS LOVE CHEMISTRY SO MUCH. THEY WENT TO HER AND THEY SAID, YOU KNOW WHAT? CHALLENGE US MORE. WE JUST FINISHED AP CHEMISTRY AND IT'S NOT ENOUGH. WHAT I WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT THOUGH IS THINGS THAT YOU'RE SEEING ARE STEMMING RIGHT BACK FROM THE DESIGN STATEMENT, SUCH THAT THINGS HEARD FROM THE LAUNCH PROCESS, EMBEDDED WITH FEEDBACK FROM THE USERS AND THE ADMINISTRATION, ARE ALL BEING THOUGHT THROUGH TO THE POINT OF KNOWING WHERE BALL IS GOING TO BE HIT AND HOW CLOSE IS THE CAR TO THAT RELATIVITY. SO THINKING TRULY ABOUT THE ALIGNMENT OF THINGS IS WHAT YOU'RE SEEING ON PLAN HERE. THE OTHER THING WE'RE WORKING WITH IS HDR. SO WE'VE REALLY BEEN DIVING INTO MAKING SMALL CHANGES THAT HELP BENEFIT THOSE CLASSES AND ADDING IN CASEWORK, DOORS, EVERYTHING THAT THEY NEED FOR THOSE AREAS. I'M GOING TO HIT ON A FEW OF THE LARGER POINTS OF THE FLOOR PLAN, BUT THAT MAIN ADMINISTRATION PIECE IS THE ORANGE UP IN THAT NORTHEAST NORTHWEST CORNER THERE. AND WHAT WOULD TYPICALLY BE MULTI FACILITIES ACROSS THE CAMPUS IS ALL INCLUDED IN THAT ONE BUILDING.
