WE HAVE A QUORUM WITH ALL BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT THIS EVENING.

THIS MEETING IS BEING RECORDED.

AS A REMINDER, THE PURPOSE OF AGENDA REVIEW MEETINGS IS TO REVIEW ALL THE LISTED AGENDA ITEMS IN PREPARATION FOR THE REGULAR BOARD MEETING NEXT WEEK.

AND WHAT THAT DOES IS ALLOWS US OPPORTUNITY TO SEE IN THE ANNUAL REPORT YOU'LL SEE THE TEXAS EDUCATION HIGHER EDUCATION BOARD, TEXAS, YOU KNOW, THE HIGHER ED WITH YOU. IT'S HARD TO SAY I'M NOT AN ENGLISH LEARNER, BUT APPARENTLY I NEED TO.

WE GET THE SCORES FOR HOW OUR STUDENTS ARE PERFORMING IN COLLEGES, STATE COLLEGES THROUGHOUT THE STATE THAT COMES THROUGH THE TEXAS HIGHER EDUCATION COORDINATING BOARD, AND ALSO ALL THE FINANCIAL AID REQUIREMENTS GO THROUGH THE HIGHER EDUCATION GOVERNING BOARD AS WELL.

OKAY, SO SINCE YOU WERE AGREEING TO SHARE INFORMATION BETWEEN THE HIGHER EDUCATION BOARD AND THE DISTRICT BACK AND FORTH ABOUT OUR STUDENTS, THEIR PERFORMANCE ON CERTAIN THINGS, FINANCIAL AID OPPORTUNITIES, INFORMATION, ALL THAT TYPE OF STUFF.

SO WHEN I LEFT IN 2019, AT SOME POINT IN TIME BETWEEN 2019 AND WHEN I RETURNED IN 2022, WE ESTABLISHED THE HAYS COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES AS THE ORGANIZATION OR ENTITY THAT WOULD OVERSEE OUR STANDARD RESPONSE PROTOCOL.

IF WE WERE FORCED TO REUNIFY AT ANOTHER CAMPUS, THEY'VE ESTABLISHED THOSE AGREEMENTS WITH OTHER DISTRICTS.

SO THAT'S KIND OF THEIR THE OVERARCHING ENTITY.

AND WE KIND OF FOUGHT ALL THE DISTRICTS FALL UNDER THEM, IF THAT MAKES SENSE.

IT DOES. IT LOOKS LIKE THIS AGREEMENT APPLIES KIND OF MORE BLANKET TIES TO ALL THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS WITHIN HAYS COUNTY.

OKAY. AND THE REUNIFICATION PIECE OF THIS IS THAT DIRECTLY TIE AND CORRELATE WITH THE REUNIFICATION TRAINING THAT WE DO, OR IS THIS JUST A SUPPLEMENTAL SERVICE THAT'S PROVIDED? BECAUSE I THINK WE HAVE A LOT MORE SAY OVER OUR REUNIFICATION.

YEAH. WE'VE ESTABLISHED IN A CRITICAL SITUATION YOU'RE GOING TO WANT TO LEAVE THE IMPACTED AREA.

SO THE METHOD THAT WE'RE USING IS PART OF WHAT THE OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES IS HELPING US STANDARDIZE ACROSS SCHOOLS, WHICH I THINK IS A GREAT STRENGTH, SOMETHING SIMILAR. AND IT JUST GIVES US A PACKAGE THAT WE CAN RUN WITH THAT WE KNOW WORKS.

YEAH. AND IF ANYTHING, I THINK THIS SPEAKS TO THE WAY THAT WE'RE WORKING, NOT ONLY WITH, YOU KNOW, THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE AS A DISTRICT INDIVIDUALLY FOR SROS AND FOR TRAINING THE CONSTABLE'S OFFICE. THAT'S A COUNTY WIDE EFFORT WHERE WE'RE COLLABORATING WELL ACROSS THE DISTRICTS AND ACROSS THE COUNTY.

AND I JUST THINK THAT'S A STRENGTH, CONSISTENT LANGUAGE.

ABSOLUTELY. SO THIS IS THIS IS ALL GREAT.
