WE WALKED THROUGH AND APPOINTED OFFICERS. THE FIRST MEETING IN DECEMBER AND DISCUSSED THE NEW STAGGERED TERM FOR BOND ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERS. WE DISCUSSED CLOSEOUT OF THE 2018 BOND AND ANY CHANGES THERE, AND THEN REVIEWED SALE AND PROGRESS OF THE 23 BONDS. SECOND MEETING OCCURRED IN MARCH OF 24. WE DID HAVE A QUORUM FOR THAT MEETING. WE REVIEWED SOME OF THE DEMOGRAPHIC STUDIES AND PROJECTIONS FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR AND JUST HOW THAT COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL PROJECTIONS. SOUNDS LIKE WE HAVE HAD LESS GROWTH THAN ORIGINALLY PROJECTED, BUT IT DIDN'T AFFECT THE ACTUAL NEED OF THE DISTRICT. SO STILL RELEVANT. AND THEN WE WALKED THROUGH A BRIEF UPDATE ON THE ON THE STATUS OF THE PROJECTS. JUNE 13TH. WE DID NOT HAVE A QUORUM FOR THAT MEETING, UNFORTUNATELY, BUT WE WALKED THROUGH SOME OF THE PROGRESS OF THE OF THE 2023 BOND PROJECTS AND THEN DISCUSS THE CURRENT DESIGN STATUS FOR THE PROJECTED 2025 BOND AND JUST SOME OF THE PRICING SETS THAT WE'VE WALKED THROUGH. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE PRICING MAY HAVE COME IN SLIGHTLY BELOW WHAT IT WAS ORIGINALLY PROJECTED TO, BUT THAT ALLOWED THE TEAM TO SELECT SOME ADD ALTERNATES THAT WOULD BENEFIT THE PROJECT OVERALL. RIGHT? BECAUSE AS WE'RE TALKING ABOUT A POTENTIAL 25 BOND AND BONDS AFTER THAT, I DON'T IT WOULD BE TEDIOUS TO RUN FIVE DIFFERENT BOND COMMITTEES. AND SO THE BOND WE TOOK THE DATE OUT OF THE BOND ADVISORY COMMITTEE, IT USED TO SAY 2018. SO WE TOOK THAT OUT. AND THEN WE HAVE, AS WE MENTIONED EARLIER, MARY JANE AND SHANDA, WHO WILL BE ON THERE AS OUR EX-OFFICIO BOARD MEMBERS PARTICIPATING IN THE PROCESS AND KIND OF WITNESSING WHAT'S GOING ON AND REPORTING BACK TO THE BOARD THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS. AND THAT WAS APPROVED BY THE VOTERS BACK IN NOVEMBER OF 2023. AND THEN THEY ADDITIONALLY, THEY COMPRESS THE MCR DOWN. SO WE ARE AGAIN AT THE FLOOR THIS YEAR. WE'VE BEEN AT THE FLOOR FOR SEVERAL YEARS SINCE THIS WAS IMPLEMENTED BACK IN 2019, I BELIEVE. THEY HAVE IT'S THIS YEAR. IT'S AT 6169, IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY. IT'S NOT A LOT LESS THAN IT WAS IN 23-24. IT'S A MINIMAL DECREASE, BUT IT IS A DECREASE IN THAT PORTION OF THE TAX RATE. AND THEN THIS SLIDE JUST KIND OF SHOWS YOU THROUGHOUT THE YEARS WHAT'S HAPPENED. LIKE YOU CAN SEE BACK IN 1415 AND 1516 WE DIDN'T PAY ANYTHING. WE WERE STILL CONSIDERED A WEALTHY DISTRICT. WE JUST DIDN'T ACTUALLY OWN ANYTHING IN THOSE YEARS. THEN IN 16-17, WE PAID OVER $2.7 MILLION, AND THEN IT CONTINUED TO INCREASE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS. AND THEN YOU'LL SEE IN 1920, THAT'S AGAIN WHEN THEY DID ADDITIONAL LEGISLATION AND THEY HAD THE 40,000 HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION. AND YOU SEE THAT IT DROPS. AND THEN IT INCREASED, INCREASED, INCREASED AND IT GOT HUGE IN 22-23 IT WAS AT $24 MILLION. AND THEN AGAIN, WE HAD A LEGISLATIVE SESSION WHERE THEY INCREASED THE HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION. AND NOW IT'S COME BACK DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY NINE, ABOUT $9 MILLION. IT WILL FLUCTUATE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND IT WON'T SETTLE FOR ANOTHER YEAR. HOUSTON ISD, WHENEVER THEY BECAME A RECAPTURE DISTRICT, HAD DECIDED AND ENCOURAGED THEIR VOTERS NOT TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF ATTENDANCE CREDITS. AND THEIR VOTERS DIDN'T APPROVE IT SO THAT THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE KIND OF PLAYING CHICKEN WITH TEA THINKING, WHAT WILL THEY DO? THEY CAME OUT AND STARTED IDENTIFYING PROPERTY THAT THEY WERE GOING TO DETACH AND GIVE TO A POORER DISTRICT. AND THAT WAS THE GALLERIA AREA? YEAH. I MEAN, NOT DIAZ, NOT DIAZ.
